The Space Ethiopia invites viewers to partake in this warm and peculiar atmosphere that draws from ASratemariam's earliest memories. Through these paintings, he explores the rich and amorphous underbelly of an Ethiopian childhood. Modeling his figures on children in his own neighborhood and memories of his own youth, Asratemariam takes viewers back to moments of playing in the garden, turning his gaze to the wild, strange and intimate moments.
