Her Story” 2023
Despite increasing recognition, women in visual art continue to face significant challenges, often stemming from historical biases and systemic inequalities within the art world. They frequently contend with underrepresentation in galleries, museums, and major exhibitions, leading to fewer opportunities for critical acclaim and financial success. Furthermore, women artists may struggle to gain equitable pricing for their work compared to their male counterparts, and their contributions are sometimes overlooked in art historical narratives. Balancing creative pursuits with societal expectations, family responsibilities, and the demands of self-promotion can also add immense pressure, making it difficult to achieve sustained visibility and career advancement in a competitive landscape.
Post Gallery started the annual project “Her Story” in aspiration to empower women in visual art, aiming to create exposure and a platform to build their capacity. This project, which runs every March, brings women artists together to showcase their works. Alongside the exhibition of their art, "Her Story" includes workshops and provides opportunities for experience sharing between participating artists international artist and senior artists
