Tesfahun Kibru, (b.1970) is a 2000 sculpture graduate of the Alle School of Fine Arts and Design, is a dedicated artist committed to a philosophy of complete immersion in art. Rejecting the ordinary, Kibru has consistently sought to express his unique artistic vision and individuality across all aspects of his life, resulting in a versatile and adaptable approach to creative challenges.
For the past two decades, Kibru has worked as a full-time studio artist, transforming experience into wisdom and nurturing self-confidence as both a person and an artist. He has cultivated a distinct voice in contemporary Ethiopian art, marked by numerous solo and group exhibitions. A pivotal relationship with Asni Art Gallery served as a launching pad for his career, where he gained valuable exposure through solo shows, group exhibitions, and an artist residency.
Kibru's work has graced the walls of art centers, science institutes, galleries, and museums, showcasing his ability to connect with diverse audiences. Currently working under the umbrella of the local Fine Art centre DiMA, he is diligently preparing for another solo exhibition before the end of the year, further solidifying his position as a significant contributor to the Ethiopian art scene.
